The concert included Shorewood’s upperclassmen orchestra, concert and chamber choir, and Shorewood Choral Arts society, which is the village’s adult choir. Every year the concert has special guest artists, and includes all the district music staff. Michael Beix, Robert Hughes, Melissa Poll, Salvatore Terrasi, Karen Frink, Liisa Church, Walt Boyer, and Jason Clark all performed in the concert.
This year the Shorewood Choir sang G.F. Handel’s Messiah. Clark, the SHS choir director, called the piece “the greatest choral and orchestral work of our time.” The concert is a unique opportunity for musical collaboration with students and teachers. “I am thrilled we can offer this opportunity to high school students," Clark said. Audience member Laura Schuett said it was “wonderful to see the choir, orchestra, and the adult choir move together so beautifully.” John Aiello, expressing his feelings about the venue, said, "The church made the whole ambiance much more enjoyable.” Student Charlotte Hanselmann, in the concert choir, said, “We had been preparing since the first day of school, and our hard work paid off.”
